Originally slated for 80 episodes, an extra 10 episodes were ordered for the live-action adaptation of the well-loved anime. The finale is set for September 8, which hews in very closely to the original save for the fanservice-y surprise appearance of the (SPOILER ALERT) the Voles V Tank Mode in the September 5 episode.
With the Voltes team now in Boazania, the stage is set for the final battle. Voltes V versus the God of War! Steve versus Zardoz!
Cast and crew talk about the finale
As the series nears its finale, actor Miguel Tanfelix (Steve Armstrong) is feeling mixed emotions. “Lahat ng pinagdaanan namin sa loob ng 4 years, nag-flashback sa akin nung sinabing it’s a wrap. Nag-start kami sa lock-in, may quarantine pa, ang daming ginastos para maitawid ang taping during the pandemic. And now, nag-end na ang isang malaking chapter ng buhay ko. Nakakalungkot, but excited ako na makita nila ang bigger picture ng pinaghirapan namin,” he said.
“Voltes V: Legacy” director director Mark Reyes recalls the greatest achievement of their adaptation. “We’re happy with what we’ve accomplished. Nothing is perfect—we could have improved on a lot of things and added more things to the story, but we have limited time already. But for the bigger picture, it’s overwhelming that not only in the Philippines but also globally ang reactions. It’s very touching. That’s the biggest achievement. We said hello, world! GMA can do something like this and we’re proud of what we’ve done.”
